Settling In

In our first full month here in Iowa - we have done a LOT!  We tried to have some good outdoor fun before winter comes... which I hear is brutal, and before Christian leaves for his 3 week trip through Asia.
Getting the house together has kept us super busy and we have had painters here for over 2 weeks - ugh!  I seriously need them to go... I am tired of walking by a window and getting startled at the sight of some man hanging in front of it!  LOL!  I have had some great luck meeting people as well - We have a great park by our house where lots of other moms go.  I met a girl there the other day who invited us over for a drink that weekend!  LOVE IT!  Iowa is so cool like that... you just meet someone, and they become your friend!  All of our neighbors have stopped by to drop off a bottle of wine or a treat and I have several lunch dates set up this week with girls I have met :)
So excited to find a niche in this city :)

Bailey is having a blast - I have been working like a CRAZY person on her play room... Now, she stands at the stairs and points downstairs and says "Play?" That means she wants to go in there!  LOL!  I have finally set it up so that she can be in there playing by herself without inflicting harm on herself... we are working on me not having to be sitting there every second ;)

In the last couple weeks I feel like Bailey has learned a LOT of new words and has really developed a little personality... Here are some points that I want to jot down for her AND for me to remember this period :)

Bailey,

Every morning you come downstairs and the first thing you say is "Nana?"  Which means BANANA stat!

You call your cup a "Gaga" - not sure why, but it's super cute!

You have become OBSESSED with socks and shoes.  If there are a pair of shoes on the floor, you yell "Shoes!" until you find the right suiter...

"Uh-Oh"  you say this at LEAST 50 times a day... even when it's intentional... like, you throw your lunch on the floor and say, "uh oh"

You have become VERY attached to your passie... You call it a "night-night"  I used to think you were saying goodnight, but really you were asking for your passie... We are working on not being so reliant on it ;)

You love your babies.  Although, the way you treat them has me a little concerned... You are so sweet when you say, "baby!" and go get her... kiss her on the head, and then throw her down the stairs...

You have really warmed up to the word "Mama" You now scream for me all day long! ha!

"Hi" and "Bye" are your favorite phrases in public... You say "hi" to every person we walk past in the store and then say "bye"...  People respond with laughter and think you are too cute... When people do not respond, you just say it louder ;)  Some even ask if you are the greeting committee!

You now request a bow in your hair... Every morning when I pull your hair back, you say "bow?"

You can name nearly EVERY body part... it does get awkward in public when you start pointing at others'...

You have really grown to LOVE the dogs... I have tons of video with you teasing them :)

You still don't like books... but you do like to pull all of them off the shelf and only let me read one word from one page in each book before throwing it across the room...

You LOVE putting stuff together and doing puzzles.  Anytime we are working on something, you just watch and then try to repeat... you are actually quite good.  Little smartie ;)

You are getting so good with your fork and spoon!  You insist on using it, even for things that are meant to be eaten with your fingers :0

You love to pat yourself on the back... If you do something I ask, you immediately say "Good girl"... Even when you did something bad like pull all the toilet paper off the roll - you put it back, and then say "good girl"  LOL!

God do you love phones!  EVERYTHING is a phone... even your foot...

KISS!  You love giving kisses, getting kisses, blowing kisses and making kiss sounds!  To funny!

Next summer, I am signing you up for dance.  You LOVE to dance... if someones phone rings, you break out into a dance!  If a commercial plays music, you dance.  I keep music on in your play room and sometimes sneak up on you and find you dancing by yourself :)

Some of your words:
car - "Ca"
ready? which you say "rerey"
no
yes - with a LOOOOOOOONG "E"
please - which you say "pease"
dog - if it has four legs, it's a dog
outside - which you say "sigh sigh"
chair - but you only stand in them
leaf - every time you see one, you say "lea, uh oh" and try to put it back on the tree - ha!
tree - which you say "tee"
stick - which you say,... well, you can guess...
on - every time we walk by a light switch
poo poo - everytime you are about to go, you let me know, but refuse to do it on the potty ;)
tee tee - same thing
"V" - this mean TV - referring to the one in the car... it must be playing at ALL times on the road

There are so many more, but I really wanted to start documenting these things!

We love you ~
